The “Love Parade” Runway Show: Gucci Gives Us Something To Talk About

For the brand’s 100-year anniversary, Gucci just had its first in-person runway show since pre-Rona. It was definitely one to remember.

Gucci brought in old Hollywood glam looks for the collection, celebrity and plus-sized models, and a star-studded audience.

The show took place on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles, and looked absolutely incredible.

Celebrities like Jared Leto, Jodie Turner-Smith, and Macaulay Culkin modeled in the show, and Gucci had plus sized models for the first time.

The brand may seem to be falling behind the inclusivity movement, as many other brands began having a more inclusive casting for their models years ago now. However, Gucci is just catching up in terms of their runway casts.

The collection Gucci showed was made of beautifully-crafted, exquisite satin, feathered, and sequin materials with a vintage feel. The show looked straight out of a movie.

Feathers, fringe, and bold colors dominated the scene.

Celebrities on the sides brought in their own interpretation of the old Hollywood theme with their outfits too.

Lizzo brought back flapper styles from the 1920s in her look.

Salma Hayek and Serena Williams made it too.

The show was definitely memorable, and quite a way to make a comeback since their last in-person show in February 2020.
