We all remember waking up early on a Saturday morning, fixing a bowl of Lucky Charms, and sitting inches away from the TV to watch our favorite cartoons. If you're part of the Millennial and Gen-Z generations, then Cartoon Network was definitely part of your TV rotation. We grew up watching The Powerpuff Girls fight crime, Scooby-Doo solve crimes, and Dexter try to conquer the world.

But the beloved cable television channel is coming to an end as we know it.

Back in April of this year, it was announced that WarnerMedia was merging with Discovery, thus creating a company called Warner Bros. Discovery. Cartoon Network isn't the first big impact of the merger. Earlier this year, CEO David Zaslav announced there would be a full overhaul of DC Entertainment. This means rethinking the strategy of the division, and ultimately changing what it was originally.

The latest move of the company? Cartoon Network.

Similar to the DC Entertainment branch, Cartoon Network will be going through an overhaul as it merges with Warner Bros. Animation. In essence, Cartoon Network will cease to exist as we know it, and it's unclear what the merger of Cartoon Network and Warner Bros. Animation will look like or what it will attempt to be. However, there hasn't been any announcements of major cancellations in shows at Cartoon Network, so you can continue to watch your favorite series and cartoons with hopes that they do not disappear soon or that they will carry over into this new merger.
