Why Little Island Is Perfect to Go with Your Hook Up

As vast as the city is, finding a good date spot can be rough. While a rooftop bar, a stroll around central park, or a pizza slice in Little Italy all seem like great options for a date, they scream romantic. And after a fun night in with your "buddy," romantic is not what you need.

This is where Little Island, the new park on the Hudson River, comes in.

Located in the Meatpacking District in Manhattan, Little Island is fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg and her husband's $260 million present to the City of New York. Not only does it have an "Alice in Wonderland" look to it, but the park boasts amazing views of the Hudson and Jersey City.

Why is it the perfect spot to bring your hook up?

As we mentioned before, there are plenty of date spots in the city. Most of these, however, are places where you'd take someone you're serious about. Not to mention, the city is romantic in itself, so if you're not catching feelings for someone, it's hard to send a different message under the warm street lights glowing through a Little Italy restaurant's window.

Let's set the scene. You and your hook up just woke up early on a Sunday morning. No one has plans until brunch, and a bacon-egg-and-cheese bagel is a necessity. Take the subway to Chelsea Market for some delicious and overpriced breakfast, and then simply walk onto Little Island.

The park is small, so it provides just enough time for you to eat your breakfast and finish your coffee. A lap will also last enough for you and your hook up to cover all your chit chat before you run out of things to say. You can easily discuss Kim Kardashian's appearance on SNL for the entire time, and that will be enough.

So, next time you and your hook up are stranded with some time to kill, take them to this green area in the city. It won't send any mixed messages and will deliver an immaculate hungover breakfast experience.
