Notty on MLK's Legacy

"Think outside the box. Find your audience, your niche and then create from the soul. Believe in the best possible outcomes and then take action towards them. Even if it takes years to achieve."

Can you tell us a little bit about who you are and what you do?

I am a root-worker & spiritualist who loves to create black women as supernatural, ethereal beings. I am a full time artist, Youtuber & influencer. One of my passions is helping others discover the true power within themselves.

Who or what has inspired you to do what you do?

I would say, me wanting to get out of my depressive funk I was in for years. I saw how others could live happily, healthy & follow their dreams and I thought to myself “If they can do it I can as well.”

What message do you have for aspiring young Black creators?

Don’t put yourself in a box. Yes, recognize how this industry is against us in every shape, way, and form but still put your best foot forward. Think outside the box. Find your audience, your niche and then create from the soul. Believe in the best possible outcomes and then take action towards them. Even if it takes years to achieve.

How has MLK’s legacy inspired your life, platform, and creative projects?

Honestly, he has not inspired any of my creative works. However, his courage to do something about the state of this country regardless of the backlash, racism & hate he would receive can push black creatives forward down our own paths. This world is still against us, keep moving regardless of their limitations and break them.
