Lara Jean Covey, I have to admit—your sense of style is almost as great as your taste in men.
“Cute boots. Thank you so much for your service.”
“They’re vintage, but I got them on Etsy.”
**SPOILERS AHEAD**
The season of romance is upon us, and as a college student, you’d probably assume I’d spend this month trying to find the perfect date.
The thing is—I am!
It’s just that, if I’m being honest, my perfect date involves binge watching the To All the Boys movies on Netflix because the final installment aired February 12th.
But if you’re anything like me when it comes to watching movies, you are naturally drawn to what people are wearing and how their clothing choices correlates to the story being told. (You may also like to come up with outfits inspired by your favorite characters…is that a weird flex? I feel like it is).
I want to put a special emphasis on Lara Jean from the To All the Boys movies because she has a unique look. Her ugg wearing bully, Genevieve, makes fun of style, but she’s the best dressed out of everyone in her entire school.
Her retro style is reminiscent of her old fashioned ideas on love. For instance, she starts off the first movie writing love letters to her previous crushes whilst spending her free time reading erotic novels and ends the movie walking across a lacrosse field to meet her lover for a final kiss before walking off into the sunset.
(Romance novels are my guilty pleasure, so I can relate, Lara Jean).
Here are some of my favorite outfits from each movie:
To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before
Ok, as someone who loves knee high socks, or just tights in general, I adore this outfit. It’s very school girl-esque, which fits Lara Jean's aesthetic because she is portrayed as innocent to the point that she’s never had a boyfriend (she tells Peter this midway through the first movie).

So am I, like, the only one that thinks striped socks would look cute with this fit?
Yes? Just me? Well, you can always opt for a white pair instead!
To All the Boys: Always and Forever
Lara Jean looks like she’s about to have a picnic, not walk through the streets of Manhattan. But I dig it, so much so that I just bought my own version of this dress (seen below).

And while I clearly love how each costume designer incorporated their own spin on Lara Jean's style in each movie, they never strayed from who she was even as she grew up and went off to college.
She’s an old soul at heart, with her views on love and her fashion choices to match.
Love love love it!!! No, girl-you are not the only one! And, seriously-all of Laura Jene's outfits are so iconic! Netflix should make more movies like this! <3
