How to Spend the Last Days of Summer

Out of ideas on how to spend your last days of summer?

August is coming to a close and that means that summer is too.

You’re probably wondering where the time has gone and how you can spend the last couple of days before school begins. During the last weeks of summer, there are limited things that you can do. If you’re bored of going to the beach or the community pool and you don’t wanna waste time planning an outing, well, you can stop stressing because New York’s Bucket list has got a ton of options that you and your friends can do before the season is over.

Area 53 Adventure Park

Looking for a place where you can enjoy a group night out? Area 53 Adventure Park is the right place for you with lots of activities to occupy you and your group of friends for hours. There’s rock climbing, roller skating, a rope course, a laser maze and every Tuesday they host a theme night like Summer vibes and Hip Hop Night. With so many activities available in one place, this is something you don’t want to miss out on. Grab your friends and enjoy the adventure!

Movies with a Brooklyn Bridge View

There is nothing better on a summer afternoon/evening than sitting outside on a blanket, with your favorite snacks and drinks, watching a good movie. And it doesn’t hurt that you have the ambiance of the New York City skyline and the Brooklyn bridge as a backdrop. During the last two weeks of August, Brooklyn Bridge Park will be playing Akeelah and the Bee and The Karate Kid. The best part is that you don’t need to pay for a ticket to get a spot! This is also a great option for those who are still a bit apprehensive about going to an indoor movie. So grab a blanket, maybe even a bottle of wine and enjoy the movie!

Brunch and Yoga at Baby Brasa

The end of summer can be stressful for some people. Whether it’s going back to school or starting a new job, people are filled with anxiety this time of year. If you find yourself feeling overwhelmed with stress, take the day to regroup and focus on yourself and try yoga and brunch at Baby Brasa; an organic resto bar in the West Village that offers yoga classes and weekend brunch. The atmosphere is very zen. It’s the perfect place to relax and enjoy a nice Sunday brunch as well as get your mind off of your worries. What better way to cure stress than a little yoga, food, and relaxation!

Rosé Music Festival

The last event I suggest that you don’t miss out on is the Rosé music festival at Governor’s Island. If you’re looking for a way to spend Labor Day, this event will be appealing to you. This fun filled festival includes lounging at VIP pools, running through sprinklers, and even a ferris wheel. And the best thing about this festival is you can do it all while drinking wine! So for all my wine enthusiasts out there, this is an end of summer event you won’t want to miss.

Summer is meant to be carefree. It’s time to let it all hang loose, so don’t waste another minute dreading it’s end. Make the most of the last days of summer by getting out there and taking advantage of all the fun things that await you.
