Besides writing top charting music and preforming to sold out arenas all around the world, Taylor Swift is also a master of mysteries. Swift will be releasing her tenth studio album, Midnights, for the world on October 21, 2022, and her fans have had a lot to say. While many think Taylor’s voice is her claim to fame, her well throughout and executed clues hinting to new albums, music, and videos are what truly resonate with her fans. Scroll through the #TaylorSwift on any social media platform and you will be met with a range of different fan theories trying to detect any possible Easter eggs that Taylor may be leaving.

In an interview with Jimmy Fallon, Taylor stated that she plans some ideas three years in advanced and that her fans should always read in between the lines.

Promotion for the album has come in the form of “Midnight Mayhem with Me” where Taylor would unveil a track name for thirteen straight nights prior to the release of her album. These titles include “Anti-Hero”, “Snow on the Beach” and even “Karma." Each video was posted exactly at midnight and fans immediately started to hypothesize on possible theories for singles, music videos and any other connections.

So, what are some of these fan theories for her latest release, Midnights? One of the most notable is for the track called “Karma." When this track name was released, fans immediately tied it back to her hit single “Look What You Made Me Do” and the music video for her song “The Man."

Taylor recently wore a dress to the 2022 Video Music Awards that is hauntingly like the dress worn in her “Look What You Made Me Do” music video, which fans have theorized is supposed to pay homage the dress she wore at the 2009 VMA’s where singer Kanye West publicly interrupted her acceptance speech. The word “Karma” was also seen spray painted on a wall surrounded by her other album names in the music video for her song, “The Man." Could her new song “Karma” be connected to these experiences?

Fans have quickly been putting the pieces together and countless other theories have sparked across numerous social media platforms. No matter what theories are proven right or wrong one thing is for sure, Taylor Swift fans are extremely excited to get their hands on her latest work.
