Before he releases his third album on Friday May 20th, ‘Harry’s House’, Harry Styles sat down with DJ and producer Zane Lowe for a conversation about the inspiration for this album, his experiences on his recent tour, how he approaches songwriting, and how Harry has dealt with fame and becoming a solo artist.

Harry's House Will Be Divided into Two Parts

The songs in this album promise to be straightforward, thoughtful, and full of Harry's endearing humor. There is no denying that as he releases his third album, Harry has become a more experienced vocalist. The first half of Harry's House is made up of seven songs and includes pieces that will leave you reflecting and thinking about the lyrics for days. However, each track proves to be as meaningful as the others, giving insight into Harry's past and present.

Love Takes Center Stage in This Album

As has been the case with his previous records, Harry Styles has used these songs to reveal his feelings about past relationships. In Coachella, he performed "Late Night Talking." Without a doubt, this song is an example of the themes that will be prevalent in this album.

“I’ve never been a fan of change, but I’d follow you to any place, if it’s Hollywood or Bishopsgate, I’m coming too." – Lyrics from "Late Night Talking."

Harry considers Harry's House to be one of his most intimate albums. The last song is titled "Love of My Life." This unique song retells the ending of a relationship in a way that is both romantic and sad.

Harry Is A Huge Fan of Billie Eillish

Zane Lowe not only asked questions about "Harry's House." He also dug deeper into Harry's transition from being in a phenomenon like One Direction to now experiencing such a rapid rise in fame as a soloist.

“I definitely had a really big moment, I think, when Billie Eilish kind of first blew up. I think being in the band, I’d always felt like … it was fun and exciting because we were young. And I had a moment, seeing her do this at such a young age, where I felt like, ‘I’m not that young anymore.’

During the conversation, Harry opened up about how Billie Eillish has inspired him. He referenced the way she has handled her rise to fame, which in some way he compares to his own experience with One Direction and then consequently his solo career. While Harry made it clear that he and Billie are friends, he has yet to tell her how much she's inspired him during his career.

“For a while, it was like, ‘How do you play that game, of like, remaining exciting?’ And I just had a moment where I felt like, ‘OK, we’re not the same thing.’ And in the same vein of, like, ‘You’re not always going to be the kind of young thing,’ I was like, ‘OK, I would really like to think about who I would like to be as a musician.’”
