Fall is here again, bringing sweater weather, autumn leaves, and pumpkin-flavored everything. Now that things are starting to open back up again, why not take advantage of all of the events and activities that fall has to offer? What better place to do that than in New York City! Here is a list of some of the upcoming events this autumn.

Oktoberfest

The Watermark Bar on Pier 15 in the Financial District is hosting an Oktoberfest from now until October 24. You’ll get to enjoy the festival’s music, dancing, food, and drinks, all while looking out at the Brooklyn Bridge. The best part is, it's all free! All you have to do is RSVP for a table for you and your group on their website.

New York Renaissance Faire

Ever wished you could travel back in time to experience the 17th century? Well, the wait is over. The New York Renaissance Faire at Tuxedo Park in Orange County, NY is open from now until the end of October. NJ Transit’s Port Jervis line will get you to the Tuxedo station, and it’s a 15 minute Uber from there to the Faire. If you’ve never been to a Renaissance Faire before, you don’t know what you’re missing. One notable performance is the Well-Washing Sisters: an interactive comedy show that features two sisters as they gossip about their lives living in the village. The show consists of adult jokes that’ll leave you laughing on the way home. You could also attend the jousting show where you get to watch knights compete to make each other fall off horses. Check out some of the food options while you’re there as well. The faire has a variety of vendors with various vegetarian and vegan options, and concession stands that you can enjoy during your visit. You definitely can’t leave without trying a turkey leg.

If you really want the full renaissance experience, you could even dress up as royalty, a peasant, a sorcerer, a pirate, or a belly dancer. Make the most of your day at the Renaissance Faire!

Cruise on the Hudson

One of the best things about the fall is watching the leaves change colors. Now, you can experience it in style by coming on board the Cruise on The Hudson at Chelsea Piers. This is a great way to relax and enjoy the beauty of New York City. While on the cruise you’ll receive complementary food and beverages. This is one experience you don’t want to miss.

Blood Manor: New York’s Premier Haunted Attraction

A great way to get into the Halloween spirit is by going to New York’s premier haunted attraction, Blood Manor, on Broadway street in lower Manhattan. This chilling atmosphere is designed for you and a group of friends to spend an evening out in the city. From the second you set foot in this haunted house, you’ll be running screaming from a person in a mask. Blood Manor has great photo-ops to fill your Instagram stories — such as a slaughterhouse, hillbilly house, chainsaw repair shop, spa of the macabre, and a cemetery of the dead. Other viewers have raved about how great Blood Manor is and it was featured on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. If you love to be scared or love horror films this is definitely for you.

The fall is a great season for outdoor events because the weather isn’t too cold or too hot — but it won’t last for long. Make sure to take advantage of every opportunity you get this fall.
