Every Event that Led to "Harry's House" Winning Album of the Year

Harry brought home “Album of the Year” at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards, here are all the steps that lead up to that moment

On February 5th, British singer songwriter, Harry Styles walked away with two new-gold plated awards. The Grammy’s are one of the most prestigious award shows the music industry has to offer, and are loaded with a star-studded nominee and guest-list. This year's award nominees did not disappoint. In the highly coveted “Album of the Year” category, Harry Styles’s third-studio album, “Harry’s House”, was up against big names and impressive artists, such as Beyonce’s “Renaissance”, Adele’s “30”, Bad Bunny’s, “Un Verano Sin Ti" and more. So what are some of the events that lead up to Harry cinching one of the most coveted awards this year amongst such competitive company?

For starters, the release of the first single from the new album, “As It Was” on April 1, 2022 kick-started the Harry’s House era. It was an instant hit and became Styles' first song to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard charts where it remained for a consecutive 15 weeks.

Following the success of the first single, Styles released his third-studio album, “Harry’s House” on May 20, 2022 which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard top 200. That same night, he performed a One Night Only show at the UBS Arena in New York to celebrate the release of the album.

Love on Tour, the tour for his previous album, Fine Line, began September 4, 2021 and has been running since, kicked off the new leg of the tour for the newly released album on June 11, 2022 in Glasgow, Scotland. Harry also announced a series of multiple night residencies in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Austin, all of which quickly sold out.

August 20, 2022 marked the beginning of Harry’s fifteen night sold out residency at the world-famous Madison Square Garden in New York City. This was an amazing feat for a solo artist and stirred up a lot of publicity for the British singer whose album was becoming a staple in pop music. On the fifteenth night of the MSG residency, a banner was raised to the rafters that commemorated his 15 nights at the Garden.

After New York, Styles continued to hold residencies in other U.S. cities, and continued on his Love on Tour tour with sold out dates and packed arenas.

Two other singles from the album were announced later in the year, “Late Night Talking” and “Music for A Sushi Restaurant” which reached the top of the charts respectively. Harry’s House was a huge success and has since sold over 330,000 albums, solidifying Harry as the first UK male artist to debut at No. 1 for his first three albums.

Finally, as the year came to a close, it was announced that, “As It Was” became the most-streamed track of 2022 on Spotify, which truly shows the influence that Styles' album had in 2022.

While each of these feats are incredibly impressive on their own, it is easy to see why Harry’s House received the accolade for, “Album of the Year”. In addition, Harry’s House also won the Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album. This album truly defined 2022 and nine-time Grammy nominee, Harry Styles has become a household name and a standard in the music industry. To top it all off, his charming and characteristic personality only adds to his appeal. Harry Styles exemplifies kindness, and his hard work and dedication to his music and his fans are what set him apart from the rest, and his success is an attest to his undeniable talent.
