Chipotle and eyeshadow. Yes, you read that right.

Chipotle and e.l.f. recently collaborated to create a makeup collection.

The collection includes an eyeshadow palette, sponge set, lip gloss, and a makeup bag all inspired by Chipotle.

I think this may be one of the strangest collaborations I have seen in a long time.

When I first heard the two brands were collaborating, I was extremely skeptical and overall confused.

My first thought was if the eyeshadow smelled like the different Chipotle ingredients. To anyone wondering the same thing, it does not.

However, after doing some research and watching a few reviews on the collection, I actually think it was a smart partnership on behalf of both companies. Apparently, this is not the first time the two brands have collaborated.

The two previously teamed up on a smaller collection early last year. The previous collection sold out within minutes, so creating another collection was in the best interest for both companies.

They are both well-known brands and despite having very few things in common, they created a cool collection that embodies the essence of both brands.

e.l.f. is a cruelty-free and 100% vegan brand. Their values are seen in this collection because every ingredient is translated on the palette other than the meat options Chipotle usually offers.

The palette is meant to reflect the line of ingredients we usually see when ordering at Chipotle. Including an eyeshadow shade for each ingredient shows that the two brands didn’t just throw a collection together with random names.

The packaging is also reflective of Chipotles brands. It usines a silver color on the exterior to resemble the steel counter at Chipotle. All of the shades are also named based on each of the ingredients, and one of the products in the collab also includes a makeup bag that looks identical to the bag that a customer gets their chips in when ordering chips and guac.

Not only does this collection include beautiful eyeshadow shades, but purchasing the palette includes a promotion for free chips and guac at Chipotle, a win-win in my eyes.

Now you have another excuse to buy more makeup and Chipotle… free chips and guac are totally worth it.

In addition to the chips and guac promotion, Chipotle is also offering an e.l.f. inspired bowl that is completely vegan! The bowl was created by two famous drag queens Kim Chi and Trixie Mattel, who also made a YouTube video trying the bowl and the collection that you can watch here.

Another product in this collection is the “Make it Hot Lip Gloss.”

This lip gloss was a hit in all of the reviews I watched, acting as a lip plumper with a pretty shade of red that isn’t too out there.

I know this may sound like a weird collaboration and no one was more skeptical than I was at first, but after watching a few reviews, the products seem to be a hit.

e.l.f. is also a very affordable company to buy products from and collaborating with Chipotle made sense for both companies in terms of profit and marketing.

Although, I wouldn’t buy the items in this collection just because some shades in the palette are brighter and more pigmented than I usually wear, but if it means getting free chips and guac I may just have to do it.
