You play Hilary Banks in the new NBC Peacock series, “Bel-Air." What attracted you to this role and how did you prepare for it?

Hillary is a lot like me. She’s very driven and focused on improving herself in an industry that doesn’t always cater to women who look like her. It was easy to get into character because of the similar journey I’ve had navigate in the entertainment industry.

Do you have a favorite behind-the-scenes moment from filming?

My favorite behind the scenes memories have to be the dinner/breakfast scenes, when everyone in the cast is all together. We’re always creating songs, dances, and freestyles. It’s the loudest behind the scenes you’ll ever see lol

You're also a talented singer and just released your new single, "Caliber." How would you describe your music to a new fan?

I would describe my music as upbeat, uplifting, and sexy.

Your Instagram is full of beautiful pictures of you in a creative wardrobe. Who is your favorite designer and why?

One of my favorite designers right now is LaQuan Smith.I feel like his pieces are the perfect balance of edgy and classy.

What advice would you have for a young artist/actress that is wanting to join the entertainment industry?

My advice for young creators is to keep pursuing the end goal. A lot of times it will feel like things aren’t working out in your favor, but they are in ways that you probably won’t be able to connect until you look back. Hindsight is 2020

You are an amazing cook and make delicious meals on your socials on the “T & Coco” cooking show. What is your favorite dish to make and what inspired your passion for cooking?

My favorite dish to make would probably be mac & cheese, or a pound cake from scratch that I learned from my grandmother.

Cast Superlatives

A lifelong friend even after the show: All of us will be lifelong friends, we say this to each other all the time.

The “set” clown: The clown would be Jordan who plays Jazz!

Someone that makes everyone smile: Akira makes everyone smile, she’s so innocent and pure

The person that relates most to their character: The person that relates the most to their character would probably be me, besides being a professional chef.

The person that with the most bloopers: A person that will have the most bloopers will be Cassie. Every time we’re on set I’m learning both of our lines so the process can go a little smoother lol
