MUD caught up with the young actor to discuss his new role on the Netflix hit series, Clickbait.
You recently played the youngest child (Kai Brewer) in the Netflix Series, Clickbait. Did you relate to this character in any way? Being 15 years old now, do you feel like this younger age helped you get into character easier?
I relate to Kai in the athletic sense, but other than that there aren’t many similarities because well, he’s not the brightest as most people would know and I like to think of myself as a smart kid. Being younger helped me get into this character a lot easier because, he’s a teenager and I know what goes through a teenagers mind as I am also a teenager lol
Were you surprised that Clickbait blew up in popularity and made it to number 1 on Netflix as fast as it did? Did you watch the whole series yourself?
I was really surprised because while everyone knew the show was going to be good, nobody could’ve anticipated this much popularity. I have not watched the series myself because I don’t like watching myself on tv, but I’ll probably get to it eventually…
How was playing a part in a thriller series different from any of your other roles? What was your favorite scene in the show and why?
Being in a thriller wasn’t that different from doing a drama and mostly all of my past projects were dramas, but I will say the one thing I experienced that was different was that I got to do stunts. The fight that I had with Michael in the beginning of episode 7 is hands down the best for me.
You've been in different projects in the past. How are they different from Clickbait?
Well I actually worked on a newer show called Law and Order: Organized Crime which came out at the beginning of this year, and the cast was incredible to work with, and the mansion that we shot in was phenomenal so that was pretty sick to work on. It was pretty different from clickbait because, it was shot in New York as opposed to Melbourne, Australia which is where I filmed Clickbait, and everything on Law and Order was a lot more serious.
What is something you wish someone told you before you chose this industry?
I wish someone had told me that the audition process was going to be the worst experience of my entire life, but I should never give up or try any less because I think that I won’t book something.
If you could play a role on any TV show or movie what part would it be and why?
I would definitely have to go with a marvel movie franchise or show, and I’m honestly down to play any superhero because I think all of them are cool.
Who or what inspired you to become an actor? Who is your favorite actor of all time and why?
I would definitely say the one thing that got me really excited to be an actor was the Karate Kid movie with Jaden Smith. My favorite actress of all time is Awkwafina because she’s the funniest person in the world to me.
Finally, do you have any upcoming projects that you’re working on and are willing to share with your fans?
I’m hoping to work on a Disney plus animated series this year! Also Snowpiercer season 4 will start filming again soon enough, hoping to be apart of it!
