1. The Diviners by Libba Bray


I loved reading this book because it really provided an escape from the stress that was going on in my life. I was truly absorbed into the story and have since continued with the series!


Travel to the 1920s New York City and be swept away into the unknown. The Diviner’s are people with supernatural powers of all kinds. Follow Evie and fellow Diviners uncover the story of a murderer.



2. The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern


I freaking loved this book. Talk about following a circus and two characters in this game. I did not see what happened. This story drew out all the emotions and I could not put the book down.


In an atmospheric book, prepared to get swept away into the circus that only comes at night. This story will transport you all over the world as you follow the circus. In the game that Celia and Marco play, what will happen?



3. The Outsiders by S.E Hinton


As a person who does not gravitate towards classics, this was amazing. I feel that this story is underrated, but it deserves so much love. I want to reread this book so badly.


If you have not read this classic about friendship you are really missing out. Why read a classic? Well, despite the fact that it was published in 1967, many of the themes such as socio-economic divide, class, loyalty, and choices are still very relevant today.



4. Grit by Angela Duckworth


I found that this book had a significant impact on my freshman year of college. This gave me some insight on how to be successful. Many of the tips I picked up in this book I still use today.


Don’t fall into the freshman fiasco and neglect schoolwork for partying. This book will help show you that you have what it takes to succeed. She proves with scientific evidence how one can not only achieve grit but how it can grow.



5. The One by John Marrs


This book is one of my all time favorite books of all time. I binge read this book in about 1-2 days and I still think about it all the time. It’s relevant to the dating age we face in college as many people often search for the one that will be with them forever. This twist on this common concept is just mind blowing.


Would you want to know who you are genetically matched with for your soul mate? Whether you answer yes or no, you want to read this book. This book will take you for a ride as you follow 5 people and their journey with being genetically matched to a soul mate. Does it work? Is it fake? Do the relationships last?
